Today my pdoc recommended a consultation leading to shock therapy to deliver me from a severly debilitating depression that seems impervious to all forms of chemical medication. I don't mind saying that I'm scared of this and would like to hear from you if you have had or are having this type of treatment.

There's a discussion of ECT right now on PB Social and you can probably find out quite a bit in the PB archives. It is a topic which seems to regularly reoccur.

Thanks for the tip... I read all the stuff on "social" now I'm really unsure of whether I will try it. I suppose, however, that the people that get completely healed and go upon their merry way don't usually post that kind of feedback. Thanks for helping me navigate this forest of information!
