Buspar acts differently with SSRI?

Hi, I recently did some research and found a discussion saying Buspar basically acts differently in the presence of an SSRI compared to alone. Something in regards to antagonizing the auto receptors when taken with an SSRI (which I want) vs doing the opposite when alone. Just wondering how much truth there is to this? Even if not, is it generally accepted that Buspar usually only works when taken as an adjunct (ie with SSRI).

I have no insights for you. However, I find the idea very interesting. If you come up with any more information regarding this, could you please post it?

its a partial agonist at 5ht1a receptors. So by itself, it causes more activity, but it causes less than would occur if you let an ssri work.

Sort of like how the same 200$ bank account means i'm a rich man if i visit guatamala, but a poor man when i visit london.

so is london busbar alone and in central america busbar is together with another SSRI? I just started busbar in addition to zoloft to try and get my anxiety under control. I don't want to go to london with only $200 bucks.

the partial agonism of buspar is probably more useful in combination with an ssri, and reduces some s/e of ssris.
