I am now in my 60's and only discovered I suffered from major anxiety & major depression about six years ago, with an accompanying syndrome (think that's the right way to put it) called SAD Social Anxiety Disorder. Both me and my brother take Nardil (or an equivalent (in my case)), which helped immediately, but I'm getting *a lot* better recently.
I *think* it's partly through conscious effort and deliberate socialization.
e.g. truth telling (trying to be open) on Facebook.
e.g. For my website, finally giving myself a clear identity - showing clearly that while I have almost conflicting talents - SO WHAT.I let it all "hang out", as they used to say. BTW, I've got compliments on my site, which is a mixed bag (again I show my age), but which clearly points out that I am both a technician (i.e. I know structure), and an artist (i.e. I do format). Please check out my website "Both & Each" at http://www.c-art.com. Is it too much of a jumble?
Maybe however, my evident improvement is all from the prescription!
Now. I haven't seen much on Nardil. It is an oldie (WWI era) but a goodie. Any other experiences? I am especially interested in long-term usage of MAO-A + MAO-B inhibitors. Do our brains atrophy? Or grow? Etc.
This is the end of the thread.
