Other than Tianeptine which isn't available where I live, are there other ways of decreasing serotonergic release or transmission? Docs won't prescribe the NaSSa Remeron. Does increasing NE or DA decrease 5 HT release?

My GP doesn't know much about it and the psych I was seeing was concerned about weight gain.

I'm kinda scared of Remeron too after reading about some people's numbing experiences with it here.
Look at this:

maybe it would be less numbing in higher doses? unfortunately, anything about 15mg sent my ocd haywire, but it was more activating at higher doses

Buspirone decreases serotonin.

Thanks for the input guys. I think reducing serotonin probably isn't a good idea. I've been experimenting with low dose prozac @ 1.25 mg a day to boost NE/DA and it hasn't helped as much as when I was taking 2.5 mg a day. Now it has only been 4 1/2 weeks, but i'm pretty sure I felt something at around the 5th week on 2.5. So I guess I need a little serotonin.
