Rilutek, lamictal, water retention, wear of?

Hello,
I added 100 Mg of rilutek to my 300 Mg of lamictal and have noticed some puffiness around the eyes in the morning that wears off throughout the day. I am wondering if water retention side effects of these medications eventually wear off or am I in it for the long haul! It is a bummer as the rilutek is so helpful and I suppose it is worth the side effect! Many thanks for your thoughts,
