i've had my share of sleep deprivation, your up and you either irrtible and manic, or ... it wears you down but sleep deprivation can do 2 things, 1 increase your dopamine levels in exhange for more energy. Then when you have been deprivated of sleep, you crave sweet and fatty foods, because the days i went without sleep, or low sleep, i had to the hospital, but i kept craving candy - it was just out of the blue, and i hate tons of it. Later researched and found gluocose is a source of energy, so people who hvent slept well crave sugary or fatty foods, i guess to make up for the sleep, and produce gluocose. I am not a professional but it popped in my head when i was deprived, i craved food, sugary food, most of the time. It's a body reaction to make up for energy. Days without sleep, seems surreal and your focus and cognitive abilties are altered, mostly decreased.

I once involuntarily went two weeks without sleep and it ended in the loony bin with "psychosis". I didn't eat very much though.

>That happened to me too. I don't know how long I was awake, but I was already paranoid from sleep deficit, and the paranoid thoughts were just racing and racing on, keeping me awake and ultimately ending in auditory hallucinations. It was like a vicious circle.

Yeah, I shouldn't write that in quotation marks. The brand and make of my buddys car changed several times. So that was pretty hardcore.

i researched, sleep deprivation starts out with higher dopamine to function, that's why induced paranoia that i had also. It was being in crazed state, for 2-3 days. I was more reactive and irrtible. From what i researched, yes sleep dep. downgrades dopamine D1 and some other receotors. But this article, (which could be bogus) says one sleepless night or nights increases dopamine levels. yeah like said when i had drained of sleep, i was in a crazed state, that usally means more dopamine causing paranoia and alteration of reality

some people could be diffrent, they could be tired and worn down, with less dopamine and just be drained of energy. Everyoe is diffret, but when it happened to me after 2-3 days, yes irrtiblity, crazed feeling

Haha, yeah, all of a sudden it looked like a different car. Different color, different everything. Several times. I don't think that is normal-

well all i gotta say, when your sleep deprived you crave sugar and other things that give you instant energy through glucose and carbs. I was dying to have sleep but i coudlnt have it, so it caused me to go into somewhat insanity. But, there's ... the world records of people being up withouot sleep is high, so that doenst really have imput. First day without sleep = irrtibility, bad mood. 2nd day = crazed state

seems sleep deprivation is fun sometimes because the first days, more alert and dopamine, then as it goes by you, slowly downgrade in nuerotransmitters

been havin sleep problems, and low sleep, today i got cherries and protein cookie which had alot of carbs, once i ate those, it was like a fix. During sleep deprvation, i guess carbs and sugar give the body energy, fast energy not healthy energy. I'm no nutritionist but it was a fix after eating sweets and simple carbs on low sleep. I was litterly craving it, like i had to have something sweet and rich, not for enjoyment of taste, but acutally the stuff that has simple carbs and sugar for the body. After i ate couple cookies and marcino cherries, i don't know how to describe but it was a total fix for low energy and deprivement. Like water thrist, sweets during low sleep, or deprivted, read on the net about it, it's a fast energy that carbs give while drained and deprived

sweets give the body quick energy because of being simple carbs - when had insomnia for 3 days, on about the 2nd day, just like i psoted, i craved candy, cherries, everything sweet and after i ate it was a fix. But i should, complex carbs are the most healthy carbs for energy. But, that's why i psoted because sleep deprivatioon, or low sleep body craves sweets and simple carbs for energy
