can't seem to get into a mood, or feel stable without taking 400mg in the morning. When i waas in hospital, they gave me 200 night, 200mg morning. I take 200 and it ... does work but 400 pulls me out of slumps and raises back to baseline
And that dose is pretty high

400 is kinda high, but many who take it for epilepsy take 500-800.
One thing that affects me w Lamotrigine is the genetic brand maker. If you were doing well in the hospital w the split dose, but not now, it could be that they stock a different manufacturer than your pharmacy. It's odd, but there are a number of different manufacturers and all seem to affect me (and some others) quite differently.
There's also an extended release version which you might want to consider.

That sounds like a neat effect. Do you have any side effects?

Yes, there are diffrent versions of lamotrgine in generic. Now i take a large tablet, which the other one was smaller
But the xr form is ok, but the actual effect in immidate release is 14 hours. I looked up its half life, its 29 hours. So that means it lasts 14-15 hours. But, it stay in your system, so its not like a stimulant that drops off after it wears off. No, its smooth because it built up in the system things

when i started it, HATED the dose i was on, but what happened was, for a long time was on 200mg for depression, we moved up because of mood swings. First time 400mg, dulled me out totally, seroquelized and overly stable. But after time it did .... it would take a while for someone to get used to it, at that dose.
But still there is....a little blunting, but if i don't take the 400, i feel wacky, or still my mood is lower. Sometimes lamictal can be stimulating, not sure how to descibe it. I would be in fun mood, then took lamotgrine and blunted it. So, i just got used to effect, it makes me not go into depression slumps. I noticed, even with prozac i would have slumps, lamictal is mood stablizer, but it treats more depression side, rather than lithium with mania
It's good but yeah its a high dose but i adapted, and its going ok. I mean its not the best med, but rather take lamictal over lithium. Some people take both, i was in the psych about 3 weeks ago, they had someone on lamictal and lithium for bipolar I this guy told me had to take to get stable

Don't take it for granted. I would stick with this drug and dosage. Maybe augment with Orthomolecular.

I switched back to 200, 400 is bit too much, not that impairs but it's too much, like this feelinig being forced stablized, or blunted. It's worked in the past, but now i just 200 morning, 200 night. It's mainly used to get out of a slump, but 400 is bit too much take at once. It's worked in the past, but too much frozen blunt mood. Some people it has antidepressant effect, it does but its got mood stabilization properties, and sometimes i don't want to be stablized or blunted
