You can buy cannabis /marijuana including many strengths of CBD oil, off the government of Canada website. I am Canadian, but pot doesn't do anything for me....It usually makes me feel worse. Should I try CBD oil?? My psychiatrist suggested it?

Personally, I suggest micro dosing before giving up. I despise feeling stoned, but with experimentation found that around 1.5 mg of Sativa as needed works better than a Xanax. (O/c some take it daily.) And o/c some CBD might work too.

The decarboxylated CBD I buy really helps me. One can take too much. I don't know that there is NO THC in it. It makes me feel a bit vague, but in a nice way. Depression, pain, sleep mainly.

Yeah. It's been legal for a few months now.
I have been using medical for almost a year now. I use mostly CBD oil, but occasionally THC products as well.
I do feel that there are healing qualities to cannabis products. If I could get synthetic CBD in pill form, it would be ideal, as the CBD oil is expensive for daily use.
It does work as a good adjunct in terms of anxiety and depression. CBD has eliminated my need for lorazepam, which is nice, because lorazepam brought my mood down.

I would agree with the microdosing strategy. Too much THC just makes me feel worse. A few mg however, is very helpful for pain, sleep, anhedonia etc.

>I don't know what 'decarboxylated' means. How much CBD do you take? I can't recall it helping me-- ( I was using an edible) but maybe I was taking too much. I was using 20 mg or more after awhile until I gave up.

Decarboxylated just means heated. Something happens chemically.....it becomes more bioavailable.
As for amount of CBD ......... I can see no information, though there must be some.

There are miracles happening all across the land with use of CBD oil to treat a wide variety of symptoms.
It is showing benefit in anxiety, sleep, mood, inflammation, Parkinsons disease, tremors, immune dysfunction, and more. My 85 year old mother shared a story with me of a friend of hers who has been bedridden for a long time who is now getting up and active in life again - CBD oil!
15% of the general population has a gene that responds poorly to marijuana. They can get anxiety, depression, psychosis, or worsened existing symptoms from it.
That can also happen with overdosing, which is very easy to happen to a beginner. It may be someone new should try one toke, blow it out immediately, and wait a few hours to see how that goes. People generally don't do that low of a dose. But as with meds, I think it is always a good idea to start very low with some caution.
You could try marijuana capsules - just grind up the pot, get some gelcaps, size 00, and fill the capsules with your pot powder. All the good healing chemicals in pot will be active in your body, but not the THC - the THC is useless without being heated or burned and you will NOT get an effect from it if it is just stuffed cold into capsules. You'll get all the other benefits, but not the high, not the part that made you feel bad.

For years that is how I took it. It was so much better. I could or would get high eating it, but was more inclined to enjoy it, milder, more peaceful.

CBD made me really anxious! Could this be a detox effect? I was hoping to replace Antipsychotics with it.

I can imagine it (the CBD I have) making someone anxious. They call it CBD but it may have THC below some threshold.

I find the THC therapeutic too. Some people find it stimulative others sedative. I find it very helpful (in combination with the CBD) for depression / anxiety.
