I'm in Vienna, at the moment, attending a scientific conference hosted by the International Atomic Energy Agency at the UNOC compound. We're putting the final touches on nuclear reactor designs that simply can't melt down. The Gen IV reactors have absolute fail-safe capability.
You and others helped me get here. I'm very grateful.

I can't believe Bob made such a sorry *ss excuse to protect Lou. And now, Lou has turned on him. Karma?

Thank you, Tabatha, for your contributions on this thread, and others involving Lou. I admire your ability to provide concise and well-reasoned commentary.

Hi Larry,
It is indeed karma and I am indeed a fellow metal rooster.
Toronto was wonderful, my last meeting with Bob- far from it.

And thanks for checking in BTW!

Totally off-topic and maybe you could reply on the social board, but really? If nuclear could be so safe, there goes are carbon fuel problem. Am very interested in this. And glad you've reached a point in your recovery where you can be there.

>Dr Bob has no rational judgment on this matter. It's no wonder some of these pdocs come off as total robots. Some of them just lack the basic human connection.
For Dr Bob to be unable to grasp that one toxic poster is destroying an entire community then it just boggles the mind. Dr Bob truly lacks the empathy gene. It really paints a negative picture of these so called psychiatric professionals.

>Dr Bob... more like Dr Fraud. Cause and effect is a very real concept. When one is in such a position of power and in charge of a life saving community one has a huge responsibility. To allow Lou to post here is frankly dangerous and irresponsible.
A lot of people have surely lost their lives over the years and Dr Bob has blood on his hands.
I have zero respect for Dr Bob. Honestly his actions are about on par with a corrupt officials letting a serial killer off the hook.
We each have the capability to shape the world in positive ways and Dr Bob has allowed so much pain and suffering to occur. Absolutely inexcusable. And I am sure he sleeps perfectly soundly at night. He has no heart, no empathy, no capacity for human connection.

Hi, Linkage,
I agree that Dr. Bob is oddly distant with respect to this board. His comments to Poet regarding Lou Pilder are ridiculous, to put it mildly. But despite Lou being on this board, I just wanted to say that everyone here has helped me immensely, including you. Just wanted to say thanks and good luck.

"...this individual has 'no friends.'"
I can't believe Dr Bob actually said that. What does it even mean? How is a response like that even helpful--to the people who patronize the board, and to Lou, who could benefit from some help himself)? Dr. Bob seems to be lacking in some serious empathy himself. Nice work, "Bob."

DR Bob allows Lou to post because he is blackmailed and threatened with a lawsuit.
How could this community be good for anyone when those who are in charge are unable to hold troublesome members accountable?
This place is toxic and it will be best for us to migrate.

> Friends,
Be not deceived. Mr. Hsiung is immune from defamation law suits in the US. He can allow third parties to post defamation here with him just allowing others to do so. He can not be sued for allowing even hate to abound here.
The case involved an on line gossip site called Dirty World which defamed a teacher and cheerleader named Sarah Jones and she sued the operator. At the trial court, she did win against the owner/operator but lost when Dirty World appealed. The appeals court said that the owner is not liable for what others post.
The decision is flawed but it has to go to the high court and it won't, so that could be the end of that. This means that here Hsiung can allow all the hate and defamation he wants to from other posters and be immune from prosecution.
So Alex is posting erroneous statements. He speculates that I am going to sue Hsiung but the law says that I can't. That does not mean that the harm that could come from being a recipient of defamation is not going to happen. It will. And the code says do no harm.
Lou

Hi Chris,
It makes no sense, I don't get Bob's logic at all, if he thought enabling that poster would create harmony he was dead wrong.
Friends are earned not assigned and allowing someone to spew unfounded accusations will not get anyone to be their friend except perhaps for another troll so they can compete for the most attention.

Well, despite everything, I have benefited greatly from the people at the psycho-babble forum. I have to say that even without Dr. Bob's supervision, psycho-babble has been one of the least "troll-y" places I've visited online. I have great gratitude and empathy for everyone here. You guys are the best.

> ChrisI agree with you, Chris. I am still willing to post here because I think the advantages outweigh the challenges of having a resident troll. However, if the community is to be viable, our troll must be dealt with using methods employed by other Internet forums to treat troll infections. Ignoring the troll is a good place to start.
Perhaps someone would like to make a project of researching trolls and come up with a protocol to deal with them. Our particular troll would be particularly difficult to eradicate completely, so limiting the infection should be the goal to start with.

Sounds like a good plan to me. As I am an off and on poster at best, I have not been as irritated by "the resident troll" as many here. In fact, I have pretty ignored any resident trolls because the support and empathy I have gotten outweigh any interaction I have ever had with trolls. Keep up the good work, Scott!

Furthermore, all you've done is highlight the absence of board moderation. Any thread can go off on a tangent, but what's your problem? You don't have a problem with Lou, and you can just ignore the most egregious sociopathic posts, so surely you can handle a couple of friends catching up after a period of absence?
Right?
I don't know if I remember you or not, but I'd really like to forget you.
