My son says I was sleepwalking last night. He said I was dreaming and talking nonsense. I couldn't find much in my online search:
Sleepwalking
by Krisha McCoy, MS
CausesIt is not clear exactly what causes sleepwalking. Some people are more susceptible to sleepwalking. The sleepwalking may be triggered by:
Stress
Sleep deprivation
Illnesses with fever
Certain medications (eg, antidepressants, tranquilizers, anticonvulsants, antihistamines) Medical illness (such as, migraine , asthma , arrhythmia , heartburn , sleep apnea )
Having a psychiatric disorders (eg, panic attack , post-traumatic stress syndrome )
HyperthyroidismI am very sleep deprived due to Nardil and these are my meds:
Nardil 75mg per day
Klonopin 1.5mg per day
Zyprexa 2.5 to 10mg prn per dayAny ideas?
I REALLY don't want to tell my pdoc because I'm afraid he'll take me off Nardil which is working quite well on my depression. Nothing else does. I am more than willing to adjust dosages etc. of the klonopin and Zyprexa. I just don't know what to do.

I went with the theory that my sleepwalking was caused by sleep deprivation, and not a direct result of my current med regimen.
Yesterday I saved my klonopin doses and I took all of it (1.5mg) at bed time, along with 10mg Zyprexa. I slept 9 hours and only woke up once. Hopefully that's the end of my sleepwalking (am I the only sleepwalker here?)

Hi, Jade,
Sorry to hear about your sleep deprivation and sleep walking issues. I am very familiar with sleep deprivation, on and off medication. A combination of my anxiety disorder and sleep apnea is the cause of my non-medicated deprivation. But I've never "walked" in my sleep as far as I know. That's pretty interesting. Hopefully, it will resolve on its own. Glad the Nardil is still on track though. Can't give up something that good do to a little hike with our eyes closed. No way. : )

"Old" vs. "New" Nardil article. Have you ever read this? Excellent little summary of the "old vs. new Nardil" thing. It's another reason I didn't try the "new" Nardil, probably. Sounds like, except for the sleepwalking and insomnia, though, "new" Nardil is working just fine for you. Still an interesting read. There are some great posts here from other babblers around 2008-ish about this issue, too.

Nardil has squashed my depression. Its gonna take a lot more than a few random sleepwalking episodes to get me off of it. I've tried med after med for years, Nardil is the only one to provide relief. If I can avoid psychosis and poop out I'm golden!

Cant really comment on this except to say that the new version is sure working for me :)
I might try the suggestion to take it on an empty stomach with lots of water, just to see how it absorbs.
Thanks Chris,
Jade

It's great that the "new" version is working for you. Plus, you don't have any "old" to compare it to, so I guess that's a benefit. Hopefully, it just keeps on providing relief.

I would sleep walk, basically I have no idea what I would do unless my spouse would wake me, although I never sleep drove! Because of this, I can't use z drugs.
So you've slept the past few nights? I've heard Nardil insomnia resolves. Maybe you're waiting for that. Fingers crossed for you :)
I've heard as well that Nardil can reduce anxiety, which I have in abundance. Have you found that to be true? Quashing depression is a good thing.

Hi Horse,
It's a little scary, isn't it?! Who knows what one might do in that state. I slept walked once when I was a child and I went outside to the neighbors house!

Quashing depression is a good thing.I have tried MANY meds and med combos for depression and anxiety. Nardil is the best for depression by far. I still have some lingering anxiety but that may be due to the uncertainty of yet another drug.
I would recommend it to anyone suffering from depression. I'll post again if/when the anxiety resolves (I'd say its currently gone by half).
