when i tried CBD its ... it doenst hardly have any psychoactive effective, but i did notice i was more calmer and the anxiety was lowered.....

i've smoked real weed twice in my life, but for reason it does not work well with me, i go into a diffrent reality when all it's suppost to do is chill me out, makes everything stop making sense

but CBD according to some sources is a good medcine for certain disorders

Interesting that CBD increases the effects of other psychotropics. I guess that is why I'm taking 1/3 less zyprexa on average since starting the CBD. Also in the past when I smoked pot with zyprexa 10mg I obviously didnt need a higher dose. And during times when I didn't smoke pot or take CBD I needed higher doses of zyprexa like 20mg avg.

That article is longer than I can handle. I simply can't read that volume of words. My reading impairment is one of the most debilitating and upsetting aspects of my bipolar depression.

If you get a chance, I would be interested in seeing a list of those drugs that produced akathisia in you. That seems to be an obstacle for you in trying different drugs. Of course, psychosis is, too. I know that if I were in your situation, I would want to try CBD. I'm not necessarily recommending it, but still...

Why are you not recommending it?

I can't recommend CBD because there is still so much more to learn about it. I don't want to take responsible for recommending that you take something that might ultimately hurt you. Still, I know that I would want to try it if I were in your position. If I come across anything that details risks or side effects, I'll let you know.

Well it doesnt look like CBD is more dangerous than standard antipsychotics?

By the way, with my current regimen i still experience significant anxiety that is almost pre-psychotic.

I can see how you are not recommending it.

I think its worth a try though.

The article i posted really covers all side effects. They dont seem significant.

I should add that, according to the link you provided, CBD carries very little liability to produce side effects, and makes no mention of safety concerns. The study looks like a well-done literature review. The only significant finding is that CBD can affect the levels of those drugs that are metabolized by cytochrome liver enzymes: P450 3A and P450 2C

There is a lot of work being conducted in Israel regarding the use of Cannabis for medical purposes and the individual substances it contains. Some of the studies conducted there suggest that the medicinal value of the plant is superior to pure CBD. They think that additional substances in the plant act as "entourage" adjuncts to CBD. They have developed strains of Cannabis sativa that are high in CBD and low in THC.

I am not recommending that you smoke pot.

Yes, there are effects on cytochrome p450 liver enzymes.

I am not sure how i will do this but i think it can be done.

Scott,

i guess it depends on the type of pot. There are 15% CBD and less than 1% THC strains.

I wouldnt smoke them though. I would vape them.

I think you are very well informed and in a good position to make a decision.

I really wish you luck on this one.

Does that reduce the risk of contracting cancer or heart disease? I really should learn more about it.

For pot i think it eliminates the risk. Nicotine itsself has some effects, but not near as detrimental as smoking.
