it's been 3 days now, i've stopped zyprexa i've noticed it has a sedation effect at night, but i just have said enough....i take the lamictal the 400mg at night, and that should take care of the anxiety thoughts.....zyprexa makes me really slow, and calmy dalmy all the time, i want to wake up and smell the roses and sun shine.....not feel like im on seroquel all the time......
havent told the doctor, but maybe only take it when it's needed for mania, or agitated thoughts......
i don't argree with the regime i'm on....so ill take what i think is needed.....

I don't know. My 25 years of psych meds....all of them except nardil....things were always either too calmy dalmy, or too nervous agitated....but rarely anything nice and smooth in the middle. I'm not sure many people experience the joy of roses and sun shine when on psych meds. They all do so much to dampen emotions.
i have seen people come alive and love the roses on Prozac or Zoloft. For the hardcores, Nardil too. Never anything else.

Personally I've seen proof over and over that equal or better answers are available in non-pharm thinking. I can think of a whole lot better ways to manage "as needed" breakthroughs with herbs instead of meds. If it's super bad, a med will be needed. But mostly, not.

> rLike I said, if you are going to take the steering wheel away from the doctor, then it makes no sense to keep driving the same way the doctor did. If you're still using the same meds and not looking somewhere new, then the whole thing makes no sense and doesn't seem to me it will go anywhere meaningful.
It would probably be wise to tell the doc how you are feeling and see how it goes from there. Their whole job is built on the premise of "trusting relationships"....so if the trust is gone, he needs to know he is failing at his goal.

Zyprexa is a very hard drug to quit.
To put it mildly.
Me personally, i cant see a difference to straight addiction.

it's a vary calming drug, well for some people, others it can have bad effects, but when i first started zyprexa it wiped the thoughts out of my head and made me feel normal like i did when i was younger......but after time i started noticing it blunts thinking, and causes to be lethargic or mentally sedated.......
it's had differnt effects over the years......back in 09 it had a calming effect, but i noticed i didnt talk as much and was blunted.....later in the hospital it relieved me totally from feeling my thoughts where on fire....but yea....after time it starts to pull back on the thinking, and can degenerate growth, not psychially but mentally.....it makes you just.....sedated, mentally blunted, calmy dalmy all the time......well thats at the 20mg im on but i had to take one last night because i couldnt sleep, and thinking too much, and today at a internship job, i could hardly find the words to say working with the people im working with, i just walked around and complied, didnt collaborate and discuss, it blunts that feeling to get envolved and discuss......just walk around and do what im told to do.....have low personality
i'm not taking it tonight, ill have to let the lamictal shut the thoughts up, zyprexa makes me too calm and complient, have sedated thinking
it is addicting in a way....but it's not an addiction like benzos, when discontinued it will cause the thoughts to go haywire..... i have to say that.....

i'm more going to use it as a PRN medication, it is strong, and it's heavy the next day, some days its ok and hardly notice any effect, others it's heavy, but im just gonna use it when there is a trip to where my thoughts are speedy, or agitated, to the point where it's needed for medication, taking it every night has caused me to be slower, gain weight, not talk as much.......
