if i want to try ketamine for suicidal depression, how can i do this? it is legal yet? how is it administered? how do you obtain it?
if anyone has used cannibas as augment (in non medical approved states) please let me know if there were any interactions with meds you were on.
i have an opportunity to do this, but i have never used pot (or any other illegal narcotic) (only misused rx ones) to self-medicate.i just don't think i'll make it through the weekend if i don't do something.
i know its not supported for obvious reasons, but i just need help right now to stay alive. i am willing to try almost anything...
maybe even lithium...

Hi B2,
My opinion is that you should go to the ER since you feel so unwell, and ask for Seroquel. It's calmed you before and allowed you to get some sleep. This could be a temporary measure until you see your pdoc.

I know what you said about lithium above, but it could potentially really help you. Don't rule it out.

right now, i need to keep connected to people.. (as much as i dont want to).
so i'll write.i called my ins. company last night to see if there are other options for zyprexa. She said that if pdoc office could give me the zyprexa shot (hen needed) then i wouldnt need the ER cheaper and work. Also, she mentioned some docs order meds (which she could get brand zyprexa, and i could get from her) and this way its coverend under my Medical Health INS and not my pharmacy (which is the problem). if i can get it covered under my medical that ins. is pretty good. its the pharmacy part that sucks (and i cant get around it.. i tried supplements and such, cant do).
anyway.. so i got to sleep about 4:30 last night (this morning) and slept late, didnt get up till closer to 7:00 this morning...
everyone was late. all because i dont get up.. man i just seem to screw everything up. anyway, my eyes are starting to blur
my eyes want to sleep but my body doesn't want me to.

B2chica still have your therapist? I know you have posted of feeling this way before and somehow you do make it. What do you feel would be the best way to stay connected to others and be safe. Are you caring for your two little girls. Must be getting big now too. Phillipa

Have T. She was the only one trying to help. I called her in tears....never heard back. Pdoc said Monday, T never returned call, went to GP, said I would need regulay appt to wait till Monday, went to pharmacist to discuss options, said come back Monday as they were swamped. Went to priest, but t newbie. Not much info there... Its like I'm in a circle of death and pain, and I'm being put to the test to live through the weekend. ...
I dont understand... I try to be good and support and care for everyone, and when I need help.... There's never anyone there to help...

allive, but certainly not better... i would consider myself dangerously maintained... meaning the med combination i'm on is not good, but its managed to subdue me for now. damaged maybe, but alive.i'm still very sad and quite scared... and very much alone.
but i'm still fighting.
I'm going to take another hydrocodone and go to sleep.

very frustrated.
i missed work today. cant function.
so waited...and waiting... doc was to call. never did.
i finally txt T about an hour ago she txt suprised pdoc not call. but she had a client so couldnt talk.
suprise about 20min later got a call from pdoc.
f-ing rediculous.
she got all mad that i was on the meds i was on..
she said' i dont think you understand that i cant rx anything if you...." i cut her off and very succinctly said. "no, i dont think you understand. i have been asking for WEEKS for help, for a solution, for medication and have gotten nothing. I was ready to die on friday and my method failed, so the only reason i am talking to you right now and not in some vegetative state or dead is BECAUSE i am taking this mix of meds. is it right? no, did it work.. YES. know that as soon as i get med solution from you i WILL discontinue this method."i think that cleared the air.
pdoc calling in rx now. i will (hopefully) pick up 7 day supply of zyprexa -BRAND- in about 40 minutes.
and have rest on my head that i will not die this week.thank you for your support ed.

It's easy to say 'you shouldn't have taken that' etc when she's feeling normal herself.
I think you'll be able to reduce your use of other meds very soon, once you're feeling better.

I'm not sure how long you've taken the other meds for.
How long have you been taking hydrocodone and gabapentin? If it's for more than a week (or so) you should probably reduce and then stop over a few days. For example, by taking 300mg gabapentin twice a day for 2-3 days then once (at night) for 3-4 days and then stop.... and by taking 5mg hydrocodone twice a day for 2 days then half a tablet twice a day for 3 days then stop. I'd strongly advise avoiding higher doses or longer tapers since your use has been short term. Hydrocodone use can lead to rapid dependence, and gabapentin could contribute to your memory loss. If you drive, it would be best not to do so at the moment.
If (on the other hand) you've only taken the above meds for a few days, I think you should just stop abruptly. There's no point in extending the use of these meds and hence risking dependence if you've only been taking them for a few days.... but if there's any chance you've taken them for long enough to develop a mild dependence you should probably reduce over a few days. It's not a good time to risk withdrawal symptoms while you feel so unwell.
Let us know how you do with the Zyprexa. You shouldn't need many PRN doses of haloperidol or perphenazine if you're taking regular Zyprexa. If you do take either drug (not both!) as needed, keep the dose nice and low. Excessive PRN doses of antipsychotics may have the opposite effect and make you feel worse. For example, 2-3mg haloperidol PRN might be calming, 5mg might give you a muscle spasm or restlessness.

i'll post more when they figure out a different med. i'm bringing my 'med list' of what i've been on...
