I had a brain mri without contrast, and Im still kicking! I'd rather have an mri than ct scan or xrays. It is rather small and loud in there, I'd have to take something for nerves.

The MRI I had was clanging noisy as hell. They give you earplugs and it must have taken 40 minutes. Not sure how dangerous they are but probably not as dangerous as what they might find.

It might give your mood a boost, depending on what kind of MRI you get.

Hugh the instant dianosis test for bipolar. I know I'm not as have had quite a few brain MRI's sinus ones, and pituitary ones. Getting lumbar one done on the 9th but it's in a sitting chair with the sides around just back and sides you sit and can see all in front of you. Only thing this did last time was the sandals I had on had Silver Plated hearts on the top and the machine grabbed them so those magnetic fields are powerful even at places don't need to scan. Thanks for this information. Seriously you should start a thread on this. Phillipa

I thought they were supposed to make a thorough check for metal so such a thing couldn't happen.

Hugh this was a new one that you sit in and the field isn't supposed to effect your feet but it did. I removed the sandals. Phillipa
