I can vouch for Amitriptyline and Clonazepam. Interesting I just wish I knew why on some of these drugs. Never been that fluent in knowing the actions of drugs but have been good at swallowing them. This gives me stuff to read up on.

Haldol knocks me for a loop. When I was in a hospital once and made a suicide attempt they shot me up with haldol and ativan and I slept for 15 hours.

lol phil i was writting the high potency meds for these conditions....desoxyn...you have go through failed attempts with dextroamphetamine, methyphenidate, and other stuff....and it depends on the doc....and most docs today won't do that....but still there's some....
but if i picked another med for ADHD would be Dexedrine......and for anxiety maybe...well xanax...and some other outdated benzos....besides barbituates.....get what im saying lol i wasnt saying these are the current meds they use....these are like the last resort high potency stuff...

"GAD and insomnia
Barbiturates"I think the reason the benzodiazepines were so instantrly sucsessful as tranquilisers is thatt hey are better fpr anxirty than barbiturates - they can releive anxiety without sedating you.
Also, tolorance occurs much more slowly - the BMJ found that nitrazepam retained its efficenecy as a hypnotic for 26 weeks atleast, where as amylbarbitone started to lose efficiency after a few weeks, and by 6 months, was having in impact at all.

My mother was a pharmacisr, when she first left university she was a "mod" and used to like to stay out late dancing. Amphetamine use was common in the mod culture, and she always used to keep some Methedrine in her handbag so she could keep going, but because it wouldnt have done to be found with a bottle of methedrine, she used to put them in an aspirin bottle.
One night my grandfather found them and took three for his arthritis, they found him pacing up and down the verandah at 6am not having slept a wink and convinced he was going mad

Hands down, but with many qualifiers, LSD + guided psychotherapy for certain major depressive disorders (the kind we used to call "reactive").
As for listing 10, it really depends upon diagnosis, but I'd include clozapine, lithium carbonate, opiates, dexadrine, thioridazine (with frequent heart monitoring), tranylcypromine, venlafaxine, amitriptyline, & MDMA.
Controversial? Yes!
Powerful? Definitely!
Would I use them clinically? Not all.- Cam

I read about a drug in the same class as thorazine but they said it's 200 X as powerful. See if I can find it.

Couldn't find where I read that. I know I read it somewhere because I thought, must be some powerful stuff.

Yeah, I did; (thioridazine) is Thorazine, & was Mellaril in Canada. It was removed from the Canadian Market in the late 1990s, due to heart rhythm problems (prolongation of the Q-T interval in the heartbeat).
Worked like a charm in many cases.
