Just checking - Zoloft

Posted by jono_in_adelaide on February 3, 2013, at 19:29:58

I was taking 100mg/day and had been for 2 years, I then pushed in to 150mg/day for 2 weeks then 200mg/day for 4 weeks.

Is this long enough to start seeing an effect in GAD/Panic? I havent seen any improvement at all thus far.

I am keen to move onto other things if zoloft hasnt worked, but dont want to dump it too early if there is a chance it might still come good in a couple of weeks (I doubt it, but...)

My current meds are

Sertaline 200mg am

Reboxetine 4mg bid

Alprazolam 1mg tid

Risperisone qhs

My thoughts are

1. Drop the reboxetine and cut the risperidone back to 1mg, and add nortriptyline 75mg at night

2. Deop the sertaline and cut the risperidone back to 1mg at bight, and add mirtazapine 30-45mg at night

I also want to discuss changing from alprazolam to a longer acting benzo (clonazepam?)

If i wasnt working, I'd be fine, but the stress (mostly in my head, not real) of work is driving me nutty and effecting my performance on the job, and i am utterly determined to keep this job and keep working, so I need to find somthing that controls this anxiety.

Buspar seemed totaly inert to ne when i tried it.

The drugs have my (formerly suicidal) depression in complete remission, so i have to consider whatever i choose needs to keep that in check

Jono, I've seen you recommend Atarax a lot; have you tried it yourself? It is really helping me :)
