So I was wondering. Maybe about asking to take Lyrica at my next appointment but since it's scheduled V, do doctors seem to be as hung up in prescribing it as they are with benzos?

i've been on lyrica and nuerontin for anxiety....they both are the same, structurally diffrent but have similar effects. Lyrica is good for anxiety due to slowing nueron firing....that's why they advertise it for fibromialga on tv...those lyrica commercials....anyways, yes you definatly could check it out but lyrica is a bit difficult with doctors who are not familar with it. When I was in the psych hositals they used lyrica like crazy as a replacement for benzos....
nuerontin is similar and its more prone to be used, its well known amoung some doctors.
also buying GABA would be beneficual and a little similar to nuerontin....

I dont think dependence or abuse are problematic, so you shouldnt have any problems there - whats more of an issue is the drugs very high cost compared to the alteratives.
My gut feeling is that it should only be used in cases where SSRI's have failed.
