Dissolving prozac help

Posted by rculater on November 9, 2012, at 7:28:25

Ok - i have 20mg capsules and want to start on 5mg.

I read this post about how to disolve into liquid.

http://www.dr-bob.org/tips/split/How-to-dissolve-fluoxetine.html

It says put 5 caps into 100mg of liquid to get a 1:1 ratio (5mg liquid = 5mg prozac)

However, it also says that the liquid only remains "stable" for 14 days.

At 5mg a day, this solution will last 20 days, which means I will waste my prozac after day 14.

My question is, what would be a better ratio so I can take 5mg for 14 days.

My arithmetic is shot.

Thanks

I only have 20mg capsules purchased grey market.
No 10mg . No Liquid.
Anyawy I just bought a 10mg syringe now so I figured will break one cap in that and take 2.5mg a day which should be equivalent to 5mg.

This is real easy.

First, take one capsule and dump its contents into a glass of orange juice. Stir it well. The prozac will not dissolve, but will be in suspension evenly distributed throughout. Now, if it was a 20mg capsule, you would drink 1/4 of that glass of orange juice for your 5mg dose. The remainder goes in the fridge and stays good about a week. But at 5mg a day, it will be gone in 4 days. Each time you go for another dose, be sure to stir it up well first.

This can be done with any size capsule for any desired custom dose. I used to do doses as small as 1mg with this method. Super easy.
