It's been a week since a major change happened in my life-my son moving to go to the university.Im 48 yrs old,and through-out my life,major change=depression.I thought I was heading downhill.But I didnt go there!I was able to adapt my view of the situation,see that he is happy,and go with the flow.Only med I take now is .5mg klonopin at night.Ive had moments of pure clarity and happiness,and also the expected sadness,and feeling of loss.But k kept me level,and kept anxiety at bay,and in turn,the depression never visited me.

clonazepam has been a life saver for me. No, I don't feel 100% on it, but it certainly can calm a storm. Its especially helpful when I am all over the place.

Thanks,p for your kind words(always).I still find myself thinking he's coming in the door,or Im at the grocery reaching for something he liked to eat.This is the way its supposed to be.You raise a child and off they go.Now it's time for me to find an adventure!

that was so well put,"can calm a storm".that's exactly what k does for me.I have been lucky to get by with just k.I believed that when I tapered zoloft and remeron,that I might slip into old thought patterns/behaviors.I was thrilled when I came out stronger after the withdrawal.Maybe one day I will just use k for emergencies.I have to say that it's been a life saver for me as well.

I've been on many (all) the SSRIs. They did very little for my anxiety and probably cause more impairment than they helped.
If I had been given a benzo (as needed) from the get go, I probably wouldn't have suffered so much.
I think it is the SSRIs that initiated my messed up sleep patterns.

Link I so agree as since I've taken even these low doses of SSRI's I've never been the same. The benzos low dose all the time I was "normal". Phillipa

Awesome! I think I've had more clarity of thought since I discontinued psychiatric chemicals. I am recently, even getting out and enjoying the sunshine.I admit, quitting the chemicals was not the whole contributor to my overall; better, state of well-being. Being completely honest with myself and who am has also been a significant contributor.

Thanks for your kind words.Im still feeling well.Ive even begun to lower my klonopin,sloooowwly,more slowly than Ive ever tried.this seems to be working for me.Ive told myself I will get down to .25mg daily and stay there,or not,I'll see what that feels like.Yes,being your authentic self,knowing who you are,growing up-all these things help to release you from destructive feelings/thoughts/actions.
