Seriously. I made a few phone calls to a mental hospital I was sent to when I was 20, asking why the records I got when I applied for disability were so different from what actually went down. I was politely nasty, but not threatening.
I called an ex-shrink who used to break confidentiality left and right when I lived here last. I said he was a hack and a homophobe and I wouldn't tolerate anymore bullying. No threats, just statement of fact. Cool, calm, collected and lucid as can be.
I emailed the college shrink I filed a Medical Board complaint against. Told her she didn't have to be scared of me now that I'm in the same state and that I'd found God.
Now, yesterday, the mental hospital called the police and said I was making very serious threats. The police declined to pursue charges. They just told my dad to get me more intense psychiatric care and counseling at the community mental health clinic I go to for meds and now, therapy.
Today, around 9 AM, I got a call from the community mental health place. A woman's voice I didn't recognize--she told me to come in at 10. I came in. My emails to the college shrink were on her table. At first, she was kind of hostile. I stayed calm. The homophobe shrink had decided it was time to have me committed.
That conversation, with my couneslor and that other woman, went well. Then I had to see a shrink. My doc was out for the day, so I saw the coolest male shrink ever (I prefer female shrinks usually). He found me to be lucid and absolutely not in need of involuntary treatment. He asked if I was going to make any more calls or send off more emails. I said No, I have very good self-control.
That psychiatrist did me a huge favor: free meds! I now get free *real* Abilify (I was getting stuff from India) and free *brand* Trileptal (I did get a US-based online pharmacy to fill an Rx for 300mgs/day). He pulled out 3-4 30 count bottles of 15mgs Abilify. Yesss! That's like over $1,000 worth of mental stability!
He also gave me vistaril, 50mgs, for night time agitation.
I don't know what to say about shrinks anymore. Some are evil, some really want to help. I'm kind of scared about what my more nefarious ex-shrinks might do now.
I did have my father call the shrink who wanted me committed. My dad's a white-collar, well-connected professional in this area. My dad didn't tell me what he said, but he did say he doubts he'll be hearing back.
This is b*llsh*t!

That'll teach you to be more careful.
Still it ended well. Nice cool shrink.

CE I'd wondered where you were. Please do take the abilify and no more emails run by your Dad first. I was getting worried about you. Phillipa

CE, this world can be so f*ck*d up. I'm glad you landed a cool shrink. Do you speak with your regular shrink soon, too?

I hope now that you've gotten this out of your system, you can just accept what happened and let it go. In AA (and in some religions), they say to pray for the people you hate and resent, so you can let go of your own anger.

_____________________________________Never a good idea to put something like that in an email. I'm happy things worked out but you were walking a tightrope.

Unfortunately, your reputation preceded you.
You may have to expect that from time to time.
