I started taking nardil five days ago (1-1-1),so 45mg per day.
No notidications were mentioned in official documents about avoiding nicottine but this is my last medication i give a hope after trying countless others(almost all the ssri´s,venlafaxin, antihypnotics, benzos with episodic abusus of it),so I want to give an honest try to the medication with no obstacles given by myself as it is the last option to bring my life to some bearable conditions.Social anxiety/avoidant personality.
Also I would apprecciate to continue in the discussion later (about dosage,atc...), so every experience and wisdom will be most welcome.
P.S.Sorry for my language.

Wattup from personal experience Nardil and tobbaco go fine, and Im talking smoking pretty much a pack a day. I was on Nardil for a while, and its the only med that works for me. I had to come off it for hospitalization but things are looking up and Il be on it again later this year. I noticed 60 percent remission or so at as low as 45mg after being on it for 4 months, before that minor improvments. However I really recomend 90mg or more(was as high as 120) for full remission. And im talking about social anxiety primarily not depression although that was helped a bit to. Feel free to ask anymore questions and God bless!

Thank you very much. I would be deeply grateful if you answer some of my following questions in the future as i don´t doubt there will be some.
Actually I have one, if you experienced more than 45mg - how have you split up your doses when you were at 60, 75 or 90mg? My doc is completely stupid when it comes to MAOIS.
Thanks!

I have np answering any of ur questions. As far as doses go for 45 mg I took 2 in the morning and then 1 in the afternoon. at 60mg 2 in the morning 2 in the afternoon. at 75mg 3 in the morning 2 in the afternoon. At 90mg 3 in the morning 3 in the afternoon. Take note that some doctors prefer when u get to say 75mg and up to split ur doses in to 3s so ur not taking 3 at once, but I didnt follow that and was fine and actually thought it worked better that way.

thanks. Is there anyone who has experience with Nardil+tobacoo/niccotine? I am a heave smoker, this is kind of the last med after 15 I was taking before that may help me, but yet I am in very difficult period of my time(my GF broke up with me two weeks ago, I have to pass my exams at university in few days or I will be expeled).I want to do everything possible in order to make nardil work for me, I am worried that smoking can influence it, yet I find it almost impossible to quit now(and I´ve tried in relatively quit time before at least 50times.)
I am pretty hooked on it :(, taking nardil for 2weeks now and I think i can quit smoking only after my exams(6days till the end).So worried I ruined it smoking 30cigs per day during these two weeks..

I am not aware of any major interactions between tobacco and Nardil. Smoking 30 a day is obviously bad for your health, but I doubt it would affect Nardil very much. Smoking is extremely common and there haven't been any reports of interactions with MAOIs, as far as I know.
