I take 80 mg Parnate with mood stabilizers for my BP II disorder. It seems to me that the Parnate is working some weeks and the I have to increase the dose again. Has anyone noticed the same effect?! I take it with 25mg Doxepin at night to help me sleep and for augmentation.

Any hangover with doxepin? hydroxyzine has a shorter halflife and might be an option.
Not sure if parnate's bioavailability is altered by taking it with food, empty stomach, water, etc. Might experiment with taking it under the same circumstances.
Also unsure if the drug has issues with stomach acidity. I get bad heartburn and sometimes I swear my meds arent being absorbed properly and I get depressive episodes.

Hey Ben,
Yeah I experienced the same thing, unfortunately. Parnate has a decent stimulant effect on top of its MAOI. Its structure apparently is kind of similar to amphetamine.
Unfortunatley, I think tolerance to it is almost unavoidable :( .
For me, at first the effect was strong enough that it would last > 24 hours, but as I got tolerant it shortened to less then a day, and I could notice the effect only a short while after taking the tablets. After some time it disappeared completely :(
I've tried raising every couple of weeks, but gave up at 150mg.
Since you respond well to the Parnate's stim effects, do you have a chance to try full stimulants? I can't unfortunately, being in Aus :(
This is the end of the thread.
