I'm still waiting for the pharmacy to decide to fill my Dexedrine script. They want to hear the doctor tell them that he really wrote it and I didn't just steal his prescription pad or something. The doctor didn't call them back yesterday afternoon, and it seems he's out of the office today. It can be incredibly tedious to sit at home without a regular job and without being able to concentrate on *anything*, not even the TV. This is not a new problem, but Wellbutrin gave me a glimmer of hope, until it stopped working, and my last best hope is Dexedrine. So it's incredibly irritating to be held up by the pharmacy's paranoid suspicions. I finally decided to cut one of my Wellbutrin XLs in half and take an extra half. Going to 450mg of Wellbutrin is the only other idea I have for getting out of this miserable condition. I'm not sure if it will time-release properly, so I hope I don't have a seizure. Wish me luck.

I called the doctor's office and they gave me his pager number. I called the pager and there was a greeting and then I started to leave my message. But, I didn't have the pharmacy's number in front of me, and by the time I found it it hung up on me. So I called back and tried to leave another message, but I'm not sure if it worked. I don't want to leave a third message just in case the second didn't work.

Well if he hasn't called back yet probably didn't work. I personally would call again? What's the worse that can happen if you do call? Phillipa

I actually did call back and left another message at around 5:30. I figured I might catch him as he was getting off work. The pharmacy was open until 7:00. It doesn't matter now. Hopefully tomorrow.
The pharmacy actually gave me the prescription back by mistake. So I could try to fill it somewhere else. But the other pharmacy might also want to call the doctor -- and I have been using Costco for everything else because of the prices and once I go through this they ought to trust me from then on.

Speaking of prices, though... Costco said 10mg generic Dex #30 was going to be around $75. Normally Costco is equal to or cheaper than drugstore.com, but drugstore.com has the same thing listed for $27.69. That is a big difference. But I don't want to waste my life waiting. I would have to mail the script, and drugstore.com might want to call the doctor, and then ship it back. If I had Dexedrine, I could probably find a job and earn the $47 difference in the time it would take for the whole process to play out.

I think today I might shop around for other pharmacies, because I've been thinking about that $47 and all the things it could buy. Maybe another pharmacy would give me less of a runaround, too, but that would be a secondary motive. I'm up super-early, so I have to wait for everything to open.

Costco gave me the prescription back when they were waiting for the doctor to call. So this morning, I just took it to Rite Aid and they didn't give me any BS. It was significantly cheaper, too.
