Hello everyone,
I have been searching on the internet for information about combining my agomelatine with duloxetine. However I can't seem to find any info if 30mg duloxetine in the morning can safely be taken with 25mg of agomelatine in the evening. The little info I found contradicts itself, one source says it should be no problem, the other source says it's a no-no. Is there anyone out there who knows if it's safe or knows where to find the info I need? Any help would be much appreciated!

I have heard of low dose SSRI/agomelatine combos.
It kind of makes sense to me.
You are already on 25mg of agomelatine? You can always start on less and work your way up to 25. Some people get afternoon anxiety as a side effect, and for me this passed, but I could have saved myself some pain by staying on 12.5 for longer, maybe a couple of months.

I would look for possible interactions with liver enzymes possibly causing an overdose. I doubt that they will have a dangerous interaction in the brain (nothing I know predicts it). Agomelatine is not available here in the US, so it's more of a pain in the butt to research.

> Some cyp thing? There is a pretty good chance that there is at least a mild interaction. Here is some text I've copied from rxlist.com:
"it appears that fluvoxamine inhibits several cytochrome P450 isoenzymes that are known to be involved in the metabolism of other drugs such as: CYP1A2 (e.g., warfarin, theophylline, propranolol, tizanidine), CYP2C9 (e.g., warfarin), CYP3A4 (e.g., alprazolam), and CYP2C19 (e.g., omeprazole)."
I have noticed that psychiatrists seem not to care much about these interactions among antidepressants, though. Like I think mixing Wellbutrin and Remeron (which I'm on) causes you to have raised blood levels of Remeron (its between two of my meds, not 100% sure which, but don't feel like looking it up). However, I found this out on my own, and no pdoc has ever mentioned it. I told one pdoc and he didn't appear to care.
This is the end of the thread.
