Anhedonia Sucks!

Stimualnt (mirapex) induced anhedonia.. any ideas on treatment for it? i stopped it a year and a half ago and have been so numb to pleasure since. for some reason cyproheptadine helped me, but my tolerance went up to high to it on a high dose. any thoughts on other serotonin antagonists (that arent also dopamine or norepinephrine antagonists)maybe one that works at oter serotonin receptors? if not doyou know ow this kindof anedonia can be treated?i cant take anoter stimulantof any kinf,if tats your idea.. it only makes me worse. THANKS!!

Yes it does suck. I have had it since stopping prozac years ago. I don't know what could help in the case of stimulant induced anhedonia. Maybe wait and see if it improves on its own for a couple of years while eating well, getting to bed early, and exercising.

Agomelatine isn't available in the U.S. Sure you can get it from overseas but one of our members showed me a video from "60 minutes" showing how over seas pharmacies sell fake pills and even copy the packaging, corporate logos, and blister packs just like the originals. Closest thing in the US is SSRI + mirtazapine or california rocket fuel maybe. For those in Europe agomelatine would probably work well w/ an SSRI, probably better than by itself.

That kind of lifestyle would be enough to induce anhedonia for me!
