I've been on tegretol since Friday evening and I don't notice any difference in my mood. My doctor wants me to get to a therapeutic dose and then add nuvigil for an antidepressant. Anyone have any experience with nuvigil as an anti-depressant. Ive tried about every antidepressant there is to try.

That is an unorthodox choice. Have you had success with stimulants in the past?

No experience with stimulants. My pdoc said nuvigal is being tested for bipolar depression so I guess that was the draw. Not a very good choice you think?

I can't say if it's a good choice. It's just not one I've heard of before.
Some docs buy in to the marketing hype of the latest and greatest meds, though. So I would be suspicious of whether that choice is based in good judgment or on some misplaced belief in the magic of newfangled technology. That's just been my experience.

Do you have any experience with stimulants? I'm certain they come with their own set of side effects. I haven't had much luck with anti depressants.

Do some searches on here and you'll find lots of posts on them.
