so i read that ecstacy was actually legal up until 1985.
And there was STRONG support for that drug to be legal via medical use.i heard they are doing (or were doing) clinical trials with that med (in cancer patients). but i wonder if they've done any clinical trials with people with affective disorders.
i heard that it could be helpful for people with PTSD, depression and anxiety.
so are they doing studies now? is this a guess from what they've seen in the past?
and what are the chances that this could be the next mfg Rx?out of curiosity does anyone know anyone that's taken it to try to help their affective disorder? and is there a crash when the med depletes in system?

not sure. i know that it had therapeutic value as it increases oxytocin levels (like in pregnancy/nursing) and it was argued by courts and doctors that were studying it that it should be classed Schedule III (for medical use only) but the DEA decided it should be Schedule I due i think to its possibilities for abuse.

I remember back in the early 80s, couples therapists used to use ectasy to enhance communication and empathy in sessions. I know the one time my husband and I took it (around 1986) we stayed up all night talking. Of course, by then, it was scheduled and the street versions contained lots of speed.

well, i would think any drug that brings your mood up, you would drop after stop taking in. so in that aspect i would say yes. but if its a specific mood altering Rx then if you started off with a low mood before taking it and continued taking it as directed...then during that time i'm not sure if it would make it worse?
i would assume after you stopped you would have a withdraw effect.
