DLPA to augment an AD...thoughts?

Posted by rovers95 on January 2, 2011, at 11:18:56

Hey, just wondered if anyone had any has Any experience with using DLPA both with or without an AD, I'm currently taking 175mg dosulepin and would like to add DLPA (500-100mg) to improve my mood further, and perhaps reduce pain and appetite.

Cheers

Rover

I've read about people getting some results taking 1000mg DLPA 2-3x/day with or without an AD, but truthfully, it didn't do a thing for me.

At one point though, I was taking 5htp and a combination supplement called "Mood" by Soloray and that combo, along with my wellbutrin, brought me into complete remission, albeit for only 3 days. After that point, no matter how much I increased my dose, I couldn't get the results to last.

But the point is that it did give me solid, measurable results and for someone else, it might bring about a remission for a longer time period -- but back to the DLPA -- I've tried it both with and without my AD and it never seemed to really do much for me, but like I said, I've read where some other people have gotten good results...it certainly couldn't hurt to try.

If you do go with the DLPA, though, make sure you take it on an empty stomach or with a little juice. I think it's even better taken with one of those little packets of fizzy stuff called "Emergen-C" -- they have lots of B vitamins in them and I think that's supposed to help the DLPA absorb. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
