Anyone know if Pristiq causes weight gain? I think it may be working for me. It may be a med that I add to my line-up. I am just concerned about getting fat.
I have been working very, very hard the past couple of months to lose weight and I have a long way to go. I don't want to start taking Pristiq and start gaining weight or get carb or sugar cravings.
Any experience?
Thanks!

>I found Pristiq to be weight neutral; a real bonus where antidepressants are concerned. The only reason I switched back to Cymbalta from it was for pain relief that I get with depression that Pristiq did not address.
Good luck,

So far have never had a weight problem with ad's good to know about pristiq. Personally I feel some people just don't gain weight on ad's . Although I do know my Sister did on paxil where I didn't. But she was on 40mg I think and me 10mg. Good luck if you decide to try. Phillipa

I can only speak from my brothers experience. He is on pristiq and has managed to lose weight. He exercises and was a pretty big guy to begin with. I don't recall him saying that pristiq caused him to gain weight. Try to keep it in perspective though. If the med is working for you mentally then doing a bit of work in the gym will be no problem. I wish I had a med that would get me out of the house. I hope things go well for you.Jesse
