They used to say that. I'm not sure whether it's true but I think it's a good sign.

Are you going to stay on 100mg or increase? I suppose it's a bit early to say because you need to give 100mg a chance.

Could a cyst have something to do with my depression/fatigue? My pilonidal cyst started acting up about the same time I fell into the deep depression eight months ago. I'm getting it excised next Tuesday, and maybe that will help. Could there be something else linking the two?

I don't know what type of cyst that is.
Sounds like not much improvement, but maybe a little?

Not much improvement, if any.

Could be pus in the cyst infected and then an antibiotic would be called for and most likely an improvement. What a blessing in disguise this would be. Phillipa

I took antibiotics for a few weeks already which didn't improve the depression or the cyst.

Can the cyst be drained? Phillipa

It's an open cyst, so it drains fluid every day on its own. Five years ago I had it drained, then it came back so I had it excised. It stopped the pain and draining, but never fully went away, and in the beginning of 2010 it started to become a problem again,
at around the same time my depression and fatigue increased in severity causing me to drop college.

Dima let's regroup so to say now where is this cyst? If open shouldn't it be cultured then the proper antibiotic administered? Sounds like it may be resistant to the ones you were on or not the proper ones? Phillipa

It's at the base of my tailbone. When they tested it five years ago they said there were multiple types of bacteria. It'll be excised on Tuesday.

Best of luck with Parnate. I hope you respond well. Keep us up to date.
Please dispose of all unused Anafranil. If you accidently took an Anafranil whilst taking Parnate it could be fatal. Parnate should not be started until three weeks after stopping Anafranil.

I 've read everywhere that two weeks is acceptable for the switch, though.

I've read that too, but some sources recommend three weeks because clomipramine is an exceptionally potent serotonergic AD.
This is the end of the thread.
