My schedule at work is 8:30-5:30 Monday to Thursday, then off on Friday and back at work on Saturday. I know it hasn't been long since I started the job, but every Friday I crash and sleep ALL DAY. My mom tries to wake me up and then I fall back to sleep again.
Today I was able to get out of bed at 5:30 pm and make supper for my mum. What on earth is my body doing and why? I have tried taking my Adderall for the day and I still sleep through it. And I have tried without it and the same thing happens. I have been an insomniac and a very LIGHT sleeper. But on Thursday night something changes because I sleep like a log. I don't take or need any sleep meds.
Any idea of what would cause this to happen? I don't allow myself to be tired during the week. I work a very full day where I have to be happy and energetic. I don't even allow myself to tired at night because there are things that have to be done (for my mom etc/). In fact, I often have trouble falling asleep during the week. It's really annoying me. Friday is my day off and I want to do stuff and not sleep.
Help? Please?

You're exhausted and need the sleep. You body and mind aren't ready instantaneously for all this at once. Give yourself time. Phillipa

You know I don't know. I can sleep through my stimulant too.
Phillipa has a good idea, to see if time will help gently sync your sleep rhythm more.
Sounds like you have no real downtime between work and home. I'm sorry, Maxime. And then, at least for me, how painful to sleep your day off. Argh. Hope someone posts something helpful.

Saturday night I went to bed planning to get up at 9 am. I set my alarm. Next thing I knew it was 3 pm!!! Why am I hyper sleeping? Yet I am able to get up for work (I feel like crap but I get up). I don't understand it. I feel like something is very wrong with me.

Thanks Phillipa.I think it was because I have this killer cold now for 3 weeks and my body and brain are tired. I feel better this week. Maybe it was all the sleep?

It's Saturday night and I am E.X.H.A.U.S.T.E.D.
I am going to go to bed now. But I know that next time I look at the clock it will be 3 pm on Sunday! Yup, hypersleeping. I don't even wake up needing to pee. I told my pdoc and said that obviously my body needs it so I shouldn't worry. But half of my day is gone! Considering I am someone who usually only needs 4 hours of sleep, I really don't like sleeping so much.
Time will tell. Maybe I will wake up earlier.
Yawn.
