Well, still just on 50 mg of lamictal, now the pdoc is adding 20mg of celexa. I had loss of libido on lexapro, and now I'm worried that I will have that again with celexa, and that is one side effect I CANNOT put up with. When all else in life is crappy, you can always take a trip to the bedroom, and I don't want to lose that. I've read that wellbutrin doesn't ahve any sexual side effects and is good for bipolar II. Any thoughts?

You might think about going up to 100mg of Lamictal. You would get more of an anti-depressant benefit which may allow you to lower your dose of Celexa to avoid side effects. I did this and was able to lower my Lexapro dose to 5mg (and thus eliminating the sexual side effects I had at 10mg) herpills

I tried to go up to 100mg of lamictal about a month ago, and it destabilized the bejesus out of me. I was good on the 50s, then once i started on the 100s I went from hypomanic to horribly depressed and just plain mean and irritable in the span of a week. I tried going up to the 100s twice with that same result.
Anyway, I had the pdoc put me on wellbutrin instead, cause I didn't want to risk being frigid. Let's hope it works.

hi sorry to hear the Lamictal dose didn't work out, but glad to hear you're on Wellbutrin now, it's supposed to not have the side effect you are concerned with.
