Zoloft 50mg started 5 days ago, I feel strange.

Posted by zarathustra on March 29, 2010, at 23:49:41

Hello friends,
Zoloft 25mg worked when I was 21, it was a life changing and saving experience. Naively I screwed around and went on and off it not taking it seriously: after a while it never worked again nor did ANY ssri or AD whatsoever. I am 35 now, and was just started on 50mg sertraline 5 days ago. Tonight I felt something very very subtle but profound when I was looking up at the stars as it is a clear night here in Toronto. It triggered emotions in me long forgotten, emotions from camping in the woods with my family when I was a boy, the canvas of stars, the awe and the wonder. The feeling of safety and value of family.
Im trying to explain emotions that are very hard to describe.
Anyways these subtle feelings are remarkably similar to when I was 23 and ssri were actually effective. I am sure this is not a psychosomatic response.
Is it possible for Zoloft to begining to work this early??? I thought it took a MINIMUM of a few weeks!

Thanks
Andrew

I have had that kind of early response from SSRI's on more than one occasion. Zoloft is a good med. I'm glad it's working so quickly for you. It must have been a wonderful night under the stars.

I had a very similar experience with Zoloft, and this was only at 25mg. At the time I was having the worst episode of depression I had ever experienced. I did have a very quick response. In fact it was too quick, too overwhelming. This was also before I had been diagnosed with Bipolar II. Zoloft is pretty good for depression, just a warning to people who fall anywhere on the bipolar spectrum to proceed carefully with this med...

Could be an emotional personal moment. I usually have these when I take my 1 Ambien a night

Go figure! It's just Ambien, but i get emotional on it, whereas 200 mg zoloft didnt do anything for me!
