I take Nardil, Wellbutrin XL and Synthroid.
It works for me...Go figure...it just is a shot in the dark and sometimes the combo works, not always but sometimes.I used to take Nardil alone and that was enough until they messed the formula up.
Finding something that your doc will add to MAO is the most difficult thing but mine finally agreed to prescribe Wellbutrin and when the pharmacy gives me the warning alert messages , I just say, yeah I know but we've already proved they're OK together for me, maybe not everyone.
Good luck.

I can't believe your pdoc agreed to add Wellbutrin to an MAOI! I'm jealous. My psychiatrist made me undergo a 2-week washout period when switching from Wellbutrin to Emsam, and he is too cautious to consider adding a low dose of Adderall to help my low energy and motivation. I don't think he would ever agree to adding Wellbutrin. Wellbutrin was the only thing that helped me until it lost effectiveness about a year ago. I miss it, sometimes I consider losing the Emsam and trying Wellbutrin again.

I'm surprised too since I had a reaction with a very low dose of Adderal and Nardil, so that combo was a big no-no for me.
The article I referenced for him to read was:
"Current Psychiatry"
Vol. 1, No. 6/June 2002 if you can get a copy and have him read it it might make him feel differntly. The article was in psychobabble too:www.dr-bob.org/babble/20061003/msgs/693453.html
Good luck.

Memantine!!!! It increases the sensivity of several receptors including the D2 receptors in the striatum.
NMDA antagonists inhibit tolerance to ALOT of drugs, Memantine is also clinically been shown to work for a wide variaty of disorders.

Crazymed, I am considering taking Memantine as an add on to Wellbutrin XL 150 which is not doing much for me right now. I may increase the wellbutrin to 300mg. and add the memantine. I see my doctor soon. I hope this works.
