Well, my doc told me I can't go above 60mg on the parnate and that you can't add nortriptyline to an MAOI. I took her the articles that you guys had sent me and it didn't matter. I'm so mad. Those were my 2 strands of hope of feeling better! I've been in tears since. I think I'll just have to order some Parnate and Nortriptyline online-- I know we can't discuss it here but if some dependable sites magically appeared in my e-mail... She talked about adding Remeron-- would that likely help at all?

I'm sorry to hear that. It's not fair because it could really help you. You must be really frustrated. Sounds like a power struggle to me. Can you perhaps find another doctor who would prescribe it?

Can you find a new doc? Or, go to your primary care physician and make the argument?

I think I might try to find a new doc if necessary. First, I'm going to see if the increase even helps. My insurance allows me to fill a prescription when 75% of the previous fill is gone, so this allows me some leeway to hoard some extra tablets and start taking 80mg instead of 20mg. We'll see if that helps. If it doesn't, I think I'll buy some nortriptyline online and see if that helps. If either does help, I'll try to find a doc who prescribes them legitimately.

There is info in the archives about a Dr. Goldberg going as high as parnate 200 mg. Also augmenting with stimulants for those that are treatment resistant.
