Since I've been on Parnate + Adderall, I've had some very strange nighttime experiences.
I wrote about the first one, I believe, where I stayed 2 nights in a row without sleep and still felt driven to keep going, but later when I finally went to sleep the third night, I slept through a whole day without realizing and woke up 1.5 days later and had no feeling or sense of having slept through a whole day.. I felt like I had just woken from a coma.
Say, I went to bed Sunday night, woke up till Tuesday thinking it was Monday and not realizing what happened. I actually woke up briefly Monday late at night, thinking it was Sunday night after a few hours of sleep, and I felt totally depleted.. I began crying desperately, I didn't recognize my room, everything looked strange to me, I felt lonely as hell and needed to talk to someone (even though I'm usually the opposite, never want to speak to people when I'm upset..) Wow.. I was just in shock at the experience. Weirdest thing ever. I mean, I cried for about an hour.. even called my doctor in hopes that he'd pick up, and I never do that. It was so horrible that now, whenever I stay up 2 straight nights, I put 5 alarms so this will never happen again. I rather get up and feel like crap than sleep for 15+ hours and wake up so depleted of neurotransmitters that I actually reach that state of unbearable dysphoria.
Sorry about the length of this, but I had a 2nd weird experience where I also spent 2 nights straight, but this time I wasn't depressed. Instead, I began to see things. When I was turning on the light, I saw a hand, and I saw those fast body part moves in other places. My winter jacket has a fur trim, and I had it on my desk chair..every time I looked at it, I was startled because it looked like a woman, and I felt a presence and began to get really really scared, to the point that I thought someone from my family had really come back. Then I was eating and I was awake but at the same time talking to people; I felt "in company" and remember I was sort of laughing inside because people were with me.. either unconsciously or in another way I don't understand..
I really don't know what was all that.. but it was also a very strange experience I never had before.
Has anyone had an experience like this before, either on Parnate or on something else? What is it and why does it happen?

Seriously I don't know about parnate as never taken it before. Nor if it's a common occurrance. It sounds kind of psychotic? Have you given you doc a call? If not I Would and please let us know what you find out. Phillipa

Phillipa is right. I don't have experience with your meds but the hallucinations and sensing prescences are likely due to excessive dopaminergic activity in the brain, making you see and hear things that aren't there. Also there is some speculation (I think) as to whether parnate degrades to amphetamine in the body. I'll bet the lack of sleep isn't helping either. Have you tried sleeping aids like low dose antipsychotics (seroquel comes to mind)?
Obviously this is something you don't want to be experiencing regularly. Talk to your doc, don't put it off if you're concerned he'll take you off stimulants, he may be as likely to add a sleep aid or adjust the parnate dosage. Either way psychosis is pretty serious so definitely get his feedback.
