I saw my psych nurse today - finally.
She wants me to start on 125mg Depakote tablets (I am a slow metabolizer) and if I need help sleeping take 1mg of Klonopin instead of the Seroquel which just makes me mean.
In a week I call her and at that time I may go up to 250mg of Depakote.
I also complained about my lack of focus and motivation. She suggested possibly adding back low dose Wellbutrin after I am stable on Depakote.
In the past I have gotten a little manic from Wellbutrin (but I wasn't taking a mood stabilizer). Anyone know if Depakote is enough to keep the lid on the Wellbutrin hypomania?
Also - since I get good effects from low doses, anyone know what benefits I will get from Depakote?

Sounds like a plan when you start the l50 depakote you'll know how it feels. I personally think the klonopin is a better choice than seroquel. Some say klonopin also has mood stabalizing properties. Phillipa

Wellbutrin improved my focus and concentration (and energy) immensely when I took it 10 years ago--along with depakote and zoloft (I think). I was diagnosed as bipolar 'soft'--now BP nos. That is no longer my Dx, and my recent trial of wellbutrin did not help :(.
Good luck to you--it's been a lengthy series of trials for you.

Kind of afraid to try Wellbutrin again. I hope when I do that the low dose Dep will keep me from being hypomanic.
Although I do miss the 25mg Pristiq. I don't miss the lack of sex drive or the weight gain. Plus I wonder about what Pristiq was doing to my intestines.
This is all such a circus. I hate it.
