Is there any point to taking Lyrica if tolerance develops? I guess people develop tolerance to it's euphoric effects but does that mean it loses it's anti-anxiety effect once tolerance occurs?
I've just started it for severe panic disorder and GAD, and I'm wondering if I'm wasting my time...

You might get a lot of years out of lyrica. As I got 40 years out of benzos now strange tolerance where no relaxing but need less as get tired? But I know my body needs some. I have to wonder if lyrica would work for me. What is your starting dose? Phillipa

Hey Phillipa
My starting dose is 75mg twice per day. After a week I have to go up to 300mg per day (150mg twice per day). I believe the maximum dose is 600mg per day. Might be worth you trying it...

I got around 3-6 months out of Lyrica. I don't quite remember. I do not regret being on it. I developed tolerance and many do, but I do not regret the experience.

The first time I took Lyrica, it was wonderful, I thought I experienced remission. Tolerance both to euphoric and anxiolytic effects built up fast.
I tried up to 1800 mg Lyrica, and maybe for some short time it gave an antidepressant effect. My memory was worsened the time I used Lyrica.

---I would have thought it was worth a try, maybe it works better for you.

Lyrica can cause increased appetite and weight gain, but I don't know how frequent it is. I haven't noticed any weight gain from benzos.
