Just found out today that my Employer dropped my Insurance Coverage ( I am on a Company approved leave of absence)
I am 2 weeks into Pristiq, 50mgs daily....and feeling better.
I cannot afford the $ 300.00 for the script without Insurance!!@!!
My Pdoc is on vacation ( naturally) and I am totally out.
I have some 100mg tabs of Zoloft left...should I take that, even though it is a different Med that Pristiq?
I am not really ready for a cold-turkey stoppage right now of this new Med....but the pharmacist told me this morning that If he were me...he wouldnt mix meds and switch back and forth between the two...Any suggestions???????????????
feeling a little bit panicky...

BuckEye,
That is a fix. Does your doc have a stand-in to call? If so, they must have some packages--seems every doc has stacks. Plan two would be to call your former insurance company and tell them you need to continue--mine gave me a 14 day supply. See if they can supply this--it is a vital medicine. They may not allowed to cut you off cold, legally.
How long is your doc gone for?

I think floating bridge's ideas are excellent I'd follow up on them as for switching around on meds different neurotransmitters. And there must be a covering pdoc. Seems thing like this always happen when things going well. I'm sorry. Phillipa

Once your pdoc is back he might be able to arrange for a compasionate fee for the Pristiq. When is he coming back? Can you afford to pay for something like Blue Cross?

UO- Most pharmaceutical companies can be contacted to see if they a program to help spmeone without insurance since your doctor prescribed it, you are doing well on it and the insurance just stopped and you are high and dry for lack of a better term.
Call the drug manufacturor tomorrow and see if they can help you until you can figure things ou..
