Hi all,
Does anyone know if there are any studies that look into the concomitant use of tianeptine and an SSRI? I like tianeptine and it has novel actions on stress, neurogenesis, glutamate regulation, and i'd like to take it with my Luvox, as Luvox has especially good actions for OCD as we know, which I also need help with, but i'm wondering if the two will just cancel each other out.Anyone have any ideas?
Alex

It might be a better bet with Luvox than agomelatine, though I never took SSRIs, and never with tianeptine.

No, it's good for me, but I'm not sure it should be mixed with Luvox (for reasons I know nothing about).

There is no way to theoretically predict if any particular med will cancel out the supposedly therapeutic effects of another, or that we even have a clue what the therapeutic effects actually are.
There was a single case study on pubmed where a patient did not respond to a traditional antidepessant and did not respond to tianeptine but did get a response to the combination. Unfortunately the abstract did not mention what the traditional AD was that was combined with tianeptine.

Is this coincidence, a 'dual thread', a déjà vu, parallel worlds, or am I just going crazy? Anyhow, I reacted to a similar question elsewhere, or so it seems: http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/20090709/msgs/906086.html

It sounds counter productive, but why not give it a try?
This is the end of the thread.
