Is the science good? Does he have a good point? Can SSRI's cause brain damge or damage our function of our frontal lobes? What your opinion? And anyone know any links that puts the science in this book under a lense?

Ah yes...the best piece of propaganda I have come across concerning AD's. Before you put "the science under the lens" Alex....you should investigate who the author of that book is perhaps...see what his specialty is...what works he himself has published in peer reviewed journal etc...then you may get an idea of why he has written this type of work. I have looked at it and feel alot of the science is bogus. I will go back to it again if you want to talk about it...it was interesting but a lil to outthere for my taste.

Most of the adverse effects he reports are of course old news. But i'm also interested because in the so called "chemical" lobotomy. Of course this isn't interesting for people whom the SSRI's work great. But for me, trying an SSRI for a year has caused great deline in my cognitive function and my health in general.
I don't care whether he hasn't published any papers, I'm interested in whether he has a point about the stuff he puts forth.

Well thats what I mean. This man has spend most of his career advocating, I wont say entirely against but, avoidance of psych meds. He does argue alot about the involvement of the pharm companies in sales and cover ups....but this isnt news. His point is simply to draw attention...through controversy - what better way to sell a book than publishing something that goes against "the grain". Before I take anywork seriously I like to be informed who my author is...thats just me. That way I may be able to understand or any inherant bias in the work...thats all I meant with that. Other than that it is a good read and has good points to make...but nothing this gentleman can say will put me off meds as therapy is something for combo use with meds for me. He proposes its use commonly as a first line defence which makes sense but for some...a waste of time since you may need a med to help "suppress" any feelings or negative emotions/false emotions that get in the way of properly understanding your issues in therapy.myco
