Hi Babblers,
I am posting in regards to a question that I have about my medications. First off let me lay down a foundation.I am Bipolar Type II, ADHD and I have Crohns Disease(digestive disorder).
Current Medications are 20mg Adderall XR, 1000mg of Depakote, 1600mg of Asacol, and a Multivitamin.
My question is Adderall stimulates the CNS/PNS and depakote is a mood stabilizer. Are there any interactions between the two medications? I feel the effects of the adderall, but I am wondering if the depakote is stabilizing me at the same time???
Thank You :-)
Twinch

Well,
Adderall is amphetamine, stimulates dopamine and norephinephrine, which cause a "focus, attention, motivation" feeling, when it's taken.
Depakote is for BI2, but dont know much on it. Just know it's more of a anti-epileptic, that has mood stablizing effects.
The only theroy i could think, it would hold back some of the Adderall's stimulant effect, more "numbed" effect. But, it would still provide it's effect's for Attention defecit disorder. May just need to work on the dose, lowering it, or increasing, the max FDA for adderall is 60mg, but, people have taken 90mg XR, here in the past. So, whatever works for you twitch, let it work.
best luck!
