Hi all, whats the best reuptake inhibitor for libido? Years ago my fave SNRI was nefazodone (serzone)which was great for sex drive, unfortunately its been discontinued here in the UK. Whats a good alternative? Is there anything? Its just typical that the AD I liked most was killed. What was it precisely about Nefazodone that made it so good for libido?

Umm no, it was an AD of the SNRI variety. And a very effective one from what i recall. But then that was before my breakdown from whence my requirements changed somewhat. Ahh to be 28 again, when one could tickle the taste buds of brain pharma and enjoy the ride. Mind you, all those class A's cant have been good for me..
Frighteningly, all my peers from that age are now well into their prescribed lives as wage slaves and breeders. Im wondering why I cant seem to follow them like a good citizen. I am thinking its got something to do with my dysthymia. OR is it something wholly more intellectual and cerebral? I wonder.. To what extent is mental illness simply a misdiagnosis of an inability to conform to 'conventional societal norms'? Discuss.

I've been on tons of stuff and the best med that keeps me from depression w/o hurting my libido (or ability to orgasm) is Lamictal.
If you don't mind getting a bipolar II diagnosis I HIGHLY recommend it...
it's the cornerstone of my cocktail.

Thank for your input Jay and Phillipa, is Lamictal useful as an AD augmenter for unipolar depression though?

Oh I do miss my coronas and lime but yes it is used as an augmenter. Starting slow very slowly. You pdoc will advise whether 12.5mg for two weeks or 25mg for two weeks then to double the dose same about of time. Love Phillipa
