I came across some research (one) that showed people with both anxiety/panic disorder and bipolar do not respond as well with anticonvulsants as those BP patients who do not have anxiety. Does anyone have personal experience with this, tried Lamictal, etc?
Why is it that recently I've had BP symptoms manifest only shortly after the anxiety emerges?
Why does my brain feel so fuzzy when I have the BP symptoms? Like there is an overload of electrical current? Then after I take Ativan? Same when I took Kava (which I'm now avoiding).
I hope this is only temporary. Has anyone had BP symptoms temporarily with no subsequent reoccurence?

Good the pdoc thursday and you know what I'm thinking you could be reacting like I do too much info too short a time. Is it lymes, Is it thyroid, is it bipolar. Will drive you nuts!!!!! Also could be paradoxical reaction to ativan in other words working the opposite of how it should or anxiety overriding it. Has happened to me too in the past. Love Phillipa

I've responded to Lamictal very well and I have anxiety/panic disorder. I am bipolarII. I have another issue which called for the addition of Buspar to my regimen and everything is going as I hoped it would.

I have had anxiety (was diagnosed GAD+Depression) in the past, I am actually BPII, and since I have been on Lamictal a little over a year, I have had very little anxiety at all. I've come to the possibility that I was actually having dysphoric hypomania.
I do take 5mg lexapro and 0.75mgs klonopin with the Lamictal so that could be helping with anxiety, but really it improved the most after I got on the Lamictal...herpills
