What do you mean 390 mg of celexa?

Well, obviously the dose of celexa was spelled wrong. But whatever it is, it really doesn't matter. The strategies are the same.
Switching can be hard sometimes because we don't know if we are feeling: 1)brain adjustments of less medicine, 2)brain adjustments of a new medicine, 3)brain adjustments of less of one and more of another at the same time.
The options are:
1. Wean off celexa first, wash out to a baseline for a couple weeks, and then start remeron.
2. Switch directly across.
3. Cross taper.
4. Add remeron to your normal celexa dose, stabilize on the combination, and then slowly remove celexa.
If it were me, I would probably try #4 first. The other choices can be too traumatic and destabilizing, at least for me.

Always a good idea to taper down on one and titrate up on another. But ask your pdoc; s/he should have given you a schedule or at least suggested ways to do it.
Be aware of the side effects you might get from Remeron. It will knock you out like a horse tranquilizer (even a tiny little dose) so make sure you leave extra time for sleep at least the first few nights (and don't plan anything during the day that takes full concentration). Also, for many of us, it makes you very hungry. Have brownies handy!
Lots of luck.

I'll take 10 mg of celexa for a week as I am taking the 15 Remeron. Then I'll stop the celexa and see how it is.
This is the end of the thread.
