Hi everyone,
You may recall my post above where I was trying to discontinue Seroquel. And many helpful suggestions were given. Unfortunately my doc won't prescribe me Valium or Klonopin. This week he rx'd Neurontin and Xanax. The goal of the Neurontin, I guess, is to lessen my anxiety so I could wean off the Seroquel?
However, the Neurontin dose of 300mg, taken once, glued me to my bed for 12 hours--couldn't even get up to use the restroom. Also during that whole day I felt angry, restless, feelings of despair and crying. Had to keep taking Xanax. Finally toward the end of the night I switched back to Ativan and took extra seroquel.
Does this sound like something Neurontin could do? It's kind of an "older" drug and I couldn't find much info on it. My doc says I could try a lower dose but I'm afraid of this drug now.
Could it have been the two new drugs Xanax and Neurontin in combination? Started both same night.
Any thoughts? anyone taken Neurontin before?
Does it make sense to wean off Seroquel with Neurontin????? The other one my doc mentioned was "invega" but I had never heard of it.
God, my poor brain..
thank you
Roslynn

Invega is an atypical antipsychotic; main ingredient is the active metabolite of risperidone (Risperdal).

my experience on Neurontin was awful
it caused fatigue and weight gain and kept me lethargic
i was working 50-60 hrs a week at the timebut it was that "obedient" sort of lethargy -- avoiding conflict and such
the med works wonders for some
and i wish you luck with it
call your pdoc though
This is the end of the thread.
