Parnate. Cool. I make a wish it continues to improve.
Just one odd thought to consider. It seems to me you were doing better before NAC. Yes? No? You seemed stable and content at that time and looking for ways to enhance things. But then it must have gone downhill enough to consider a switch.
Anyway, NAC is one of the body's primary ways of excreting toxins, like lead and mercury. It is much stronger at loosening the metals up, moving them around, than it is at taking them all the way to excretion. It does increase excretion, but at the same time puts some metals into circulation that had previously been stored. When toxins are mobilized, it does not feel good. Absolutely not. But that is normal. Kind of like when someone takes an antibiotic and they feel like crap, it isn't the antibiotic doing it, it is all the dead critters and their decaying toxins floating around waiting to be flushed out. When the die-off subsides, things improve huge. Kind of the same when NAC moves toxins.
I realize in that study on NAC for bipolar, they didn't even remotedly consider that the mood benefits were due to removing toxins. I'm positive that is the mechanism by which it improves mood.
Some people have harsh reactions to NAC if they raise doses too fast or start with too much. In my opinion, that is because more toxins are being stirred up than the body can handle. Starting low and going very slow makes sense to me. It is a marathon not a sprint when it comes to cleaning the body of toxins or critters.

Scott,
Were you taking Nardil for social phobia? What dosage were you on and for how long?
