In reply to Clomipramin and Atenolol- dangerous interaction?, posted by france1000 on March 6, 2008, at 5:42:10
What kind of a doctor redirects someone to a forum? He should have a cardiologist take your ECG to evaluate if there are any risks. There is an interaction because beta blockers reduce heart rate and TCAs may prolong QTc interval(I don't know what that is) and can cause arrythmias.

Thank you for your response...
A cardiologist made a ECG - normal.
And a generalist agree was regarding with me in his books (i was after that on internet too), and he find, like me in internet, this MODERATE interaction possibility...The generalist has no experiency in using Atenolol with TCA, and so he recomanded me to find the people and to make the exchange of experience, the people whos regularily takes this 2 medecines...
Thank you IF ARE THERE PEOPLE HERE WHO can give me our personal experience!!!

They do -- you of course have to wear it 24 hours and its more expensive for insurance and more of a hassle, but if it works more, so much the better. Some people have to have their chest shaved so the electrodes can attach. It cannot be worn in the shower or water.
I'm not sure about the Drugs.com but all interactions I found on reliable sources, including Drugs.com were CNS depressant interactions, which are common when multiple agents that affect the alertness of the nervous system are combined together, because the interaction is not necessarily linear.
So, no, it really isn't a heart issue from what I can tell. Its a do-not-drink-alcohol if you dont have to interaction.
This is the end of the thread.
