increased anxiety benzos, no gaba anymore

(1) what I observed is that benzos can increase anxiety given at a too low dosage prior to anesthesia. If the dosage (which is individual) is increased the sedation and anti-anxiety effects kick in. The phenomenon is very often observable and this seems to be clear data at least for me.

(2) recently I heard psychiatrists talking that benzos increase anxiety by time saying 'what is when there's no gaba in the synaptic cleft anymore'. Furthermore they were talking of a false programming of the amygdala with benzos. I don't know from what scientific data they were referencing.

Probably somebody knows more here.

warm regards, always

sdb

I was trying to be good this morning and took maybe 1.5mg Valium and it seemd to make me anxious.

So anxious that I shall have some more with lunch.

Look, I believe you.
I would have been better without them, but they are not easy to give up.
