is ativan treating my psychosis?????
i feel better taking ativan, my mood improves and i get friendly to people
also can it help short term psychosis?
please your experts info on this :)

Jeroen ativan is for anxiety usually not psychosis are you sure you have psychosis if it makes you feel better? What other symtoms are you having? Love Phillipa

It's probably not treating your psychosis directly, but by reducing your anxiety, it may be reducing the triggers for some of your psychotic symptoms. That's my guess, although I'm not an expert on psychosis.
You know what, though? I think the answer to why or how isn't nearly as important as the fact that you *are* feeling better.

> please your experts info on this :)Well, in the short run there have been studies that high dose Valium helps schizophrenic patients so perhaps it may be doing a bit of the same --
but at a lower dose I assume you're taking I would agree it probably lowers your agitation which dulls what seems like psychosis.
Just remember that over time, you may become accustomed to Ativan. That depends entirely on the individual.
